Summary
An exceptional value without complexity or fanfare is provided in this quad-band international cell phone. This simple Motorola handset lacks most bells and whistles but remains a top seller because it delivers on the core benefits of cell phone service across multiple countries at a low price point. Our favorite part of this phone is that everything has a button, so it's intuitive to use and there aren't any complex multiple meanings. The talk button means talk and nothing else. If you want to raise the volume, you press the up key to the side of your ear. The speaker is loud and the ringer audible, and all features are navigated to using a classic Motorola icon layout. You can store your phone numbers in it, set an alarm clock, and send and receive text messages using its T9 predictive text input.
Our take: If you want a decent budget-phone to use with RangeRoamer, this is the one to get. It is easy to use and is stripped of all camera/mp3/unneeded features to keep cost down while still retaining good build quality for the price. This phone feels small and comfortable in hand. The keys are not mushy. Voice quality is good.

Ratings
It's a simple phone with large numbers on a decently sized color screen. Everything has its own key, and the layout is intuitive.
Quad-band will give you coverage everywhere but Japan and South Korea.
Our budget phone is still a quad-band so your essential need - coverage - is taken care of.
It's plastic body and shell will not win any awards but this phone will take the accidental falls and hold up to repeated trips abroad in luggage, etc.
Just a phone for voice calls. It can text message too.
